How to search by Chords?

If you need to find songs that contain only certain chords, you can use our website’s chord-based search. In the search bar, please click the chord diagram icon on the right-hand side. You will see the most widely-used chords below. You can either click on these diagrams to add to the search query, or enter the chords you need one-by-one using the keyboard and marking separate chord with the spaces and hit Search button.

By default the search is in “soft” mode, it will show you the songs that contain, but are not limited by, these chords. You can make it “Show tabs with only these chords” with the button below the search bar, it will let you search for songs that only use the selected chords.

Please note that this way you search for a specific chord progression, i.e. the order of chords you enter matters.

This feature can be a useful tool if you need beginner chords when you know just a few of them, or if you are looking for songs without barre chords for example. It can also be useful for creative artists to check out the existing songs with a chosen chord progression.
